What drives your students to learn? This question has been addressed in numerous different ways. This CAPE session will provide an introduction to 4 major theories of motivation in adult learning, as well as briefly discussing several theories of motivation from organizational management.
By the end of the module, participants should be able to:
- Define and describe Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs.
- Contrast each of three major theories: Cognitive Evaluation Theory, ERG Theory, and Adult Learning Theory with Maslow.
- Evaluate the use of the 4 theories of motivation in their teaching practice.
