WSC and CETL Presents: Exploring Generative AI Potential for Research at WesternU
October 10 @ 3:00 pm - 4:00 pm

This session explores the growing role of generative artificial intelligence (genAI) at WesternU, highlighting its potential to enhance teaching, learning, and research practices. Participants will gain a foundational understanding of genAI, evaluate its opportunities and challenges, experiment with practical applications, and reflect on the ethical responsibilities of integrating genAI into higher education and healthcare contexts.
By the end of the session, attendees will be able to:
- Define core concepts of generative Artificial Intelligence (genAI) relevant to higher education and healthcare.
- Evaluate genAI outputs for accuracy, reliability, and relevance to health-sciences education.
- Experiment with genAI tools to address realistic WesternU scenarios
- Evaluate the ethical responsibilities of using genAI, including fairness, accountability, protection of rights, and its broader societal impacts.
