It’s 3D Printed, Now What? Ways to Use 3D Printing in Your Class.
November 13 @ 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm

Ever wished your students could see and feel what they’re learning? In this session, discover how 3D printed models—such as bones, teeth, and anatomical structures—can make complex concepts more tangible and engaging for students. Over the last ten years at WesternU, 3D printed projects have evolved to help students visualize patient cases or better grasp spatial relationships. Join us in this session that explores examples of how these models are being used in the class to enhance student understanding. Get inspired by what’s possible with 3D printed models—no design experience required!
Learning Objectives:
- Explain how 3D projects have shifted the classroom dynamic from passive consumption of information to active creation and exploration.
- Describe how 3D projects can be crucial for visual and tactile learners to grasp concepts like volume, dimension, and symmetry.
- Discuss how 3D printed objects and supporting digital materials help students visualize patient specific pathologies.
