Better than Dr. WebMD: Using VisualDx for Differential Diagnosis
March 10 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm

Is that weird rash chicken pox, herpes, or poison ivy? How can I quickly rule out life-threatening or infectious conditions from a list of potential diagnoses? How can I help students identify clinical pearls for distinguishing among conditions with similar symptoms?
VisualDx to the rescue! VisualDx is a library database that allows you to build a differential diagnosis based on patient findings, sort diagnoses based on likelihood or emergency, compare images side by side, and use clinical pearls to increase confidence in your diagnosis. It can also be downloaded as a mobile app.
By the end of this workshop, you will be able to:
- Use the differential builder to generate potential diagnoses based on clinical findings
- Use filtering tools to limit your diagnostic or image searches based on your needs
- Appropriately use and cite images for educational purposes
