Webinar | The AI Educational Double Bind: When to Lean In—and When to Refuse

April 15 @ 1:10 pm - 2:10 pm

In this webinar, Kevin Yee will explore why every curriculum must sometimes lean into AI, but other times, practice informed refusal. We will focus on practical strategies such as how to craft AI-resilient assessments or methods of convincing students that AI shortcuts will endanger their future careers.

AI is here to stay, and employers increasingly are seeking students who know how and when to use AI. But higher education is not here only to focus on job skills. While we train brains to think, students find AI shortcuts extremely difficult to resist meaning we must find ways to prevent cognitive offloading in large chunks of the curriculum, while also finding space for AI fluency. In this webinar, facilitated by Kevin Yee (University of Central Florida, USA), we will focus on practical strategies such as how to craft AI-resilient assessments or methods of convincing students that AI shortcuts will endanger their future careers.
