Designing Learning That Sticks

This session focuses on how to design learning experiences that give students meaningful opportunities to practice with feedback. Participants will explore how student practice paired with timely, targeted feedback helps students improve performance, build confidence, and demonstrate achievement of learning outcomes. Faculty will leave with practical strategies to create activities and assessments that allow students to practice skills, receive feedback, and refine their learning.

Learning Objectives:

  • Identify key characteristics of effective practice opportunities that support student learning.
  • Describe the role of feedback in helping students improve performance and meet learning expectations.
  • Recognize opportunities within their own courses to incorporate practice activities with meaningful feedback.
