AI in Action: Evaluating Current Models for Type 2 Diabetes Management
April 17 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm

In a WesternU interdisciplinary effort, a preliminary study evaluated the consistency and clinical appropriateness of recommendations generated by six widely available AI models for managing a representative type 2 diabetes patient. The assessments were conducted by a physician and a pharmacist specializing in diabetes management. This study offers insights into the potential of AI tools to support healthcare teams in delivering, real-world diabetes care in the evolving landscape of artificial intelligence.
Learning Objective:
This lecture aims to provide attendees with an understanding of the extent to which current AI models provide consistent and clinically appropriate information on type 2 diabetes. By assessing the reliability of AI-generated insights, we explore their potential role in assisting healthcare teams in managing type 2 diabetes effectively.
