Avoiding academic malpractice: Instilling integrity in future health care professionals

What is academic malpractice? How does this relate to professional malpractice? Participants will learn about the differences between academic malpractice and academic integrity. In this session, we will discuss examples from other institutions and solutions to help instill the fundamental values of academic integrity in students.

At the end of this workshop, participants will be able to:

• Discuss the six fundamental values of academic integrity
• Identify the three categories of academic malpractice
• Discuss the ten principles of academic integrity for faculty
