Fostering Equity in Online Learning

What is equity and how do we promote it in the classroom? In the educational setting, equity can be defined as “freedom from bias freedom from bias, assumptions, or institutional barriers that negatively impact online learners’ motivations, opportunities, or accomplishments” (Peralta Community College District). 

In this session, participants will be provided with tools and tips for how to foster equity in online learning. In addition to this, we will focus on defining equity and providing tips and tricks for infusing equity within teaching and learning environments.

• Define equity and provide guidance for how to bring equitable practices into the classroom. 
• Provided tips and tricks for infusing equity in learning environments.
