Guided Notes for a Brighter Season: Illuminating Learning with Structure

December 10 @ 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm

As the winter season begins to twinkle, the use of skeletal notes (also known as guided notes) can brighten your students’ learning experience. These handouts highlight key concepts, support active listening, and help learners organize your lecture content more effectively. In this workshop, we’ll shine a light on the benefits of skeletal notes, show examples, and explore best practices. We will also demonstrate how to easily export PowerPoint slides to make skeletal notes, worksheets, and study guides to save time so you can enjoy your winter season.

By the end of this workshop, participants will be able to:

  1. Explain the purpose and benefits of skeletal notes for supporting student learning and engagement.
  2. Recognize important components of skeletal notes
  3. Identify steps to develop skeletal notes, handouts and study guides using Microsoft PowerPoint and Word
