Guiding Decelerated Students Through Graduation
May 22 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm
Students may decelerate for a variety of reasons including taking a year off for research, being an OMM Fellow, or taking time off due to board exam, health, life, or financial challenges. During this session we’ll highlight the systemic support provided to students returning from extended time off, highlight sections of the catalog that might result in deceleration, and articulate the faculty advisor role in supporting students during their time off and transition back into the curriculum. After this session you will better understand the experience of a decelerated student and how to guide them to graduation. This session is part of the COMP Faculty Advisor Curriculum, however we welcome any employee in any college who’s interested in joining us!
