Have No Fear, NearPod is NEAR! Create easy, interactive lessons plans using NearPod

Want to implement engaging learning strategies, but don’t want to reinvent the wheel? Feel discouraged fighting for student’s attention while they take notes on their electronic devices? No Fear, NearPod is NEAR! Nearpod is an interactive lesson-creating platform that allows users to include gamification and activities, interactive videos and slides, and formative assessments into their lesson plans. Whether you’re adding onto an already-made presentation or creating a new one from scratch, Nearpod acts as a single platform that combines teaching content, tracking progress, and engaging students.

By the end of this workshop, participants will be able to:

• Create a NearPod lesson using at least two formative assessments and at least one interactive activity
• Present using one of the three presentation NearPod presentation styles (live participation, student-paced, or in front of class)
• Upload already-made Google slides or PowerPoint slides into Nearpod (or add the Nearpod Add-On to create a lesson in Google Slides)
