Item Writing Best Practices: Are you testing what you think you are

Whether you need a refresher on recommended methods for item writing or you are brand new to designing evaluation plans for your learners, this session will help you to gain confidence in writing effective multiple-choice question items that actually test what you intend. Participants will be asked to come with a teaching topic in mind to focus on for this hands-on, workshop style session. New instructors should bring at least one SMART instructional objective that is relevant to a topic to be taught in the near future. Experienced faculty should bring either a SMART objective or a question or two that you have used in the past that could use some polishing. Prepare to participate!
