August 5, 2021 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm
OER stands for Open Educational Resources, but it also has a second informal meaning of Online and Electronic Resources. Attend this presentation from a faculty perspective on how to mine “things” from the online world for your courses. Feel more confident in locating electronic resources that are appropriate for your course.
Instructional objectives:
- Discuss the importance of Copyright and the difference of using Creative Commons for searches
- Locate electronic resources within the Pumerantz Library that are licensed for use at WesternU
- List and describe the process of locating electronic textbooks from AccessMedicine, Books@Ovid, EBSCO eBooks, LWW Health Library, and SpringerLink and linking from Elentra or Canvas
- Describe the process of an advanced Google image search that returns images that are copyright-free.
