Online instruction, academic malpractice, and COVID: Acclimating to the new normal

This presentation will guide participants through lessons learned from the literature about surviving teaching during a pandemic. What challenges did universities face and how did they overcome those challenges? How did WesternU compare with the same challenges and solutions? Where universities able to maintain academic integrity? What about teaching clinical skills during a pandemic? Are recommendations from the literature feasible for WesternU?

At the end of this presentation, participants will be able to:

• Identify the five main instructional challenges during COVID
• Discuss how these instructional challenges and solutions compared to the WesternU experience
• Compare the level of academic malpractice before and during COVID
• Discuss the feasibility of the future directions and recommendations at in your course or at WesternU as a whole
