Setting the Mood – How Music affects the Classroom and Concentration at Work

This CAPE Workshop will explore how different music genres affect mood and concentration. Faculty members will learn how to choose specific music for class time and office time to maximize their learning/teaching environment. Presentation will include background information regarding music and learning and will end with an activity of making your own music playlist.
Learning objectives:
- Learners will be able to identify at least two ways on how to integrate music into their work day in order to enhance their concentration.
- Learners will be able to identify at least two ways on how to integrate music during their instruction sessions to enhance their students’ concentration.
- Learners will discuss the professional etiquette for listening to music and work and will know the appropriate websites for listening to music and creating playlists.
