The Dirty Baker’s Dozen of Strategies to Help Students Hack Their Brains

Grab a bagel and join this (now HyFlex: in-person and online workshop) to learn–and experience–several strategies to help pull knowledge out of students’ brains. We will cover 13 retrieval strategies, related research, and play with various Edtech tools that help encourage these practices in the classroom. Participants are encouraged to bring their laptop or a mobile device to practice and play along. Bagels and refreshments will be served.

This workshop is hosted by Beverly Bondad-Brown, PhD, CETL’s Manager of Instructional Design and Learning Development.

Learning Objectives:

  • Identify 13 retrieval practices that help students with recall and learning
  • Recognize retrieval practice research in the health sciences
  • Practice retrieval strategies using various educational technology tools that can be easily implemented in the classroom
