Vitamin D(esign): Re-Energize Your Curriculum with Backward Design
June 11 @ 3:00 pm - 4:00 pm

Summer is almost here, and it’s the right time to re-energize and redesign your curriculum with backward design, a proven framework that puts learning outcomes at the center of planning. This interactive workshop will guide participants through the three key stages of backward design, identifying desired results to plan aligned learning experiences.
Participants will learn how to evaluate their existing course content to identify whether misalignments between learning outcomes, assessments, and instructional strategies exist. Using hands-on activities and real-world examples, attendees will apply backward design principles to revise or create course objectives, ensuring strong alignment across all components, no sunscreen required.
Whether changing up some of your curriculum, updating a few learning activities, or looking to realign your current content, this session will leave you energized and equipped with tools to design with the end in mind.
Learning Objectives:
- Describe the three key stages of backward design
- Evaluate existing course components for course alignment
- Apply backward design principles to a portion of your course
- Develop an action plan to implement backward design practices into your course
NOTE: This session will be offered in-person in the Bartlett Flexible Learning Classroom (1st floor HPC) and via Zoom.
