Webinar | Generative AI in Practice: A Guided Introduction for Educators

As educators, finding time to explore the practical applications of AI in our teaching can be challenging. This session, designed for those with minimal AI experience, introduces practical ways to use AI to improve existing assignments, create innovative new ones, and thoughtfully integrate generative AI into your teaching practice. While the demonstration will primarily use ChatGPT – the platform most familiar to students – the approaches are transferable to other tools such as Claude and Gemini.
By the end of the session, you will have a clearer understanding of how AI operates in educational contexts and its potential implications for teaching and learning. You’ll leave equipped with practical strategies, example prompts, and exposure to approaches that can help you make informed decisions about when and how to incorporate AI tools to advance student success.
This session will be facilitated by Lew Ludwig, Professor of Mathematics at Denison University, USA and Todd Zakrajsek, an Associate Professor at The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (UNC), USA.
