Schools and the workplace are filled with diverse learners. One-size-fits-all eLearning may not meet all learners’ needs. How can we design eLearning and our training materials to reduce barriers and meet the needs of all learners? Please join UCI Division of Continuing Education in welcoming Dr. Jean Marrapodi, Senior Learning Architect for Illumina Interactive Learning, as she presents Universal Design for Learning (UDL) and its set of principles for curriculum development that give all individuals equal opportunities to learn.

You will discover an educational framework based on research in the learning sciences (including cognitive neuroscience) that guides the development of flexible learning environments that can accommodate individual learning differences.

At the end of the session, you will recognize changes that are needed in your design practices and be able to implement UDL paradigms moving forward.
