Yacht Rocking: Setting Sail to Improve Faculty, Staff, and Student Well-Being

September 14, 2023 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm

“Yacht Rock” describes songs from the 70s and 80s about leisure, relaxation, and a laid-back lifestyle. Do you wish you could go back to a time that was more laid back and less stressful? In the post-COVID landscape, national data suggest an increase in job-related stress, mental health concerns, and job burnout. Come sail away with us in this workshop as we discuss well-being, identify signs of stress and job burnout, and share how to move toward greater work-life harmony. We will also present practical strategies to help encourage student well-being, including a healthy school-life balance–all while yacht-rocking away to great music.

Learning Objectives:

  • Lovely Day: Recognize the importance of well-being for faculty, staff and students
  • How Much I Feel: Recognize signs of stress and burnout
  • Hold the Line: Identify strategies to manage work-life harmony
  • Heart to Heart: Identify ways to encourage student school-life harmony
