Robert Gagne outlined the Nine Events of Instruction back in the 1950’s. The Nine Events of Instruction, as outlined by Robert Gagne, break the learning process down into its essential elements. Although they may appear to be “common sense”, they are a great reminder of the “basics” to be included to ensure that good teaching is occurring. A handout will be provided that outlines each of the Nine Events and provides examples that can be used when teaching a course or curriculum.
