CAPE is excited to announce a new series of workshops exploring the application of learning theories in health sciences education. Each month we’ll be exploring a learning theory as applied to educational practice in health sciences, along with a research article illustrating its use. We’ll briefly summarize the background theory and article before diving into a discussion of useful applications for faculty members here at WesternU.
This month we will discuss Kolb’s Experiential Learning Cycle.
By the completion of the workshop, participants will be able to:
• Define and describe the primary aspects of Kolb’s model
• Discuss Kolb’s model in relation to the overall experiential learning landscape
• Apply the model for use in your classroom
