CETL & WSC Present – Humanism in Meetings and Building Rapport

March 24, 2023 @ 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm

Have you gone to a meeting where your attendance didn’t feel like it made a difference or, even worse, where your opinion didn’t seem like it was welcomed or mattered? In this session, we invite anyone who wants to have an open discussion about their experiences or listen in to the experiences of others to learn together and move forward leading and participating in meetings that are not just about the work, but about the people involved.

By the end of this session, attendees will be better able to:

  • Identify techniques to create a welcoming environment
  • Recognize barriers of participant meeting engagement
  • Discuss methods for ensuring individuals feel heard and respected
  • Discover the benefits of having a more humanistic and inclusive meeting

Who should attend? Any WesternU employee who hosts or leads meetings, committees, work groups, or other informal gatherings with peers. Also, anyone who attends meetings where they find it difficult to express themselves.
