20 MM | What Are 7 Ways to Assess Students in an Ungraded Classroom?
March 28, 2023 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm
Come join this facilitated discussion as we watch a 20 Minute Mentor video session led by Emily Dosmar, PhD. This session, “What Are 7 Ways to Assess Students in an Ungraded Classroom?” builds upon the previous session on an Ungraded classroom. Ungrading is using assessments that seek to improve their content knowledge and skills rather than relying on a letter grade or percentage. Ungrading focuses on feedback, performance and demonstrated growth to determine their achievement. If you missed the first CETL Session on Ungrading that is ok because watching the previous video is not mandatory and we will be sending out a link to the previous CETL session the day before so you may review it.
This session will review what ungrading is and how to assess students in an ungraded classroom with seven strategies for instructors to use in an ungraded classroom.
Learning Objectives:
- Describe what ungrading is.
- Describe how to use a gradebook when assessing students in an ungraded classroom.
- Discuss how to best implement feedback for students.
