Author guidelines contain little guidance on how to avoid ethical conflicts when publishing. Ethical conflicts are noted in plagiarism, duplicate submission, violation of authorship standards, bias, conflicts of interest, fabrication, predatory publishing, and more. Part II of this workshop series will help authors learn about some of these ethical conflicts reported by publishers and how to avoid. The role of the medical librarian is an under-utilized resource that will contribute to the success of a manuscript submission.
