Feedback to Forward Action: Leveraging End of Semester Evaluations for Growth

End of semester instructor and course evaluations from students can provide valuable feedback to help you maintain high-quality instruction, improve course delivery and show progression and effectiveness of changes made over time. This presentation will explore how to read and interpret course and instructor feedback, what to look for, what to pay key attention to, and what to put to the side. Additionally, this course will provide recommendations and resources available to faculty to address certain themes, comments or trends.

- Identify significant trends using numerical ratings of courses and instructors
- Develop themes and categories of feedback from student comments
- Distinguish between constructive, actionable feedback and non-actionable feedback
- Identify available resources on campus to improve courses based on identified themes
