InteresTED: Want to improve your skills in the clinic? Go to the museum!
May 21, 2019 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm
The literature has shown that looking at art can improve your observational skills in the clinic. Visual educator, Amy Herman, shares an insightful talk about using art to enhance your powers of perception to find unapparent connection. In this workshop, you will learn from an expert in art history about the evidence behind this phenomenon and practice articulating your observations of a variety of artworks.
By the end of this workshop, you will be able to:
- Discuss the implications of developing visual intelligence as evidenced in the literature.
- Identify how other institutions are using these techniques.
- Discuss how these skills can translate to better patient care.
