Interprofessional practice and education is a collaborative team-based approach to patient care. WesternU IPE promotes and supports a shared knowledge of health care professions that help teach students how to deliver better patient care. We know that sometimes cultivating cross-discipline collaboration can be challenging. In this session we will recognize the importance of ongoing IPE and work toward developing teamwork across professions.
Learning Objectives:
- Define the four ways we need to change the health care system, as provided by the Institute for Healthcare Improvement.
- Identity the two reasons why it is difficult to apply interprofesionalism into the workplace.
- Illustrate your understanding of interprofessionalism through a problem-solving teamwork activity.
