The Benefits of Leisure Crafting for Well-Being (In Person – Pomona)

May 13 @ 3:00 pm - 4:00 pm

In this IN-PERSON workshop, we will introduce faculty and staff to leisure crafting–a simple, evidence-based way to reduce stress, enhance creativity, and support overall well-being. Studies show that structuring things you already like doing (e.g., sports, hobbies, travel) with intentionality and a growth-mindset can result in better moods, more energy and improved well-being. Learn how you should “craft” your leisure time, while you learn about decoupage.

**Participants will decorate their own keepsake drink coaster with ink, paint, pressed flowers, and/or mosaic. Supplies limited so RSVP today!**

Learning Objectives:

  • Define leisure crafting and distinguish it from passive leisure
  • Explain the benefits of leisure crafting for mental health, stress reduction and well-being
  • Reflect on at least two ways to incorporate leisure crafting into one’s lifestyle
  • Engage in a decoupage crafting activity
